Silver New Hires, 50 Question test
Any Silver new hires out there that would be willing to take a few minutes to let us know about the 50 question test that you take during the interview. Are the questions taken out of the ATP test prep? Thanks!

Questions pretty much come from everywhere. If you're a CFI you shouldn't have much of a problem but for the jet FOs coming over it might be a bit tricky.
When's the last time someone asked you if runway headings are true or magnetic? Sheesh haha
(I still got it right btw...I'm smrt!)

It's hard to study for this test. There's PPL stuff which you would never expect from an airline interview test. Questions about reading an approach plate KBUF plates. If runways are magnetic or true heading and some random ATP questions. Many guys failed this test, I'm not surprised at why, I studied nothing but ATP and still caught me by surprise on their test when I took it.

The test is ridiculous. If you're already flying 121 stuff, you'll have to reach pretty far back in the memory banks to recall some of the BS. First question was about VOR checks! If you're a CFI, it'll be a breeze. Questions don't come from a specific bank (ie, ATP, COMM). Lily just seems to make up random $hit questions. Good luck, but if you fail, its probably a good thing. There are better places to work!

The VOR/VOT checks are done daily. The question flightmedic01 was referring to in the interview written exam was about how long VOR/VOT checks are good for (30 days, right?). If you've been in the 121 world for any amount of time, that's a piece of knowledge that has been stored in the back of your memory banks in a dusty old box.
