Default FDX ANC CAP Overstaffed?

I have been watching the open time trip assignments in ANC this week because I'm on RB. I noticed a couple trips were assigned to MEM capts who were on hotel stby pairings in ANC.

2314 MEM 11 18AUG
2311 MEM 11 17AUG

Sorry, I don't know how to make the cool links.

If we're overmanned, why do we need MEM crews on stby in ANC?

It seems crazy for a MEM guy to get a double D/H to ANC to do a EWR out and back.

So, if there aren't enough capts to cover vacation we must be understaffed.

WRT the overstaffed situation, just look at the fleet plan. In less than 18 mos. (11 mos. considering the business cycle) we will have 15 more hulls than we have today. Using the most conservative math.....we will need to hire to cover the seats.......food for thought.

Na, they'll just sub out a 727 for a shinny new 757 and have one more guy to displace.

Just because the airframes are coming doesn't mean there will be freight for them to carry.

Yah. But, they'll burn less fuel if they're empty. Now, that'll save some money.

Nope........read the fleet plan (or my post) for content (it's a learned skill). There will be 15 NET more hulls. ERJ, that means 15 more than we have now..........comprende?

Anybody still hearing the rumor about parking some Airbus aircraft and keeping 72's because the 72's are paid for?

I heard it about a month ago from our former SCP...then heard it the other day from a guy that recently went through RGS....

I haven't heard it on the the crewbus, so it must not be true...
