Default Kalitta 747 makes emergency landing in Bogota

Saw this posted on Airliners.net, translated from spanish, has anyone heard anything?



Cargo aircraft of the Kalitta airline underwent a emergencia this dawn, in Bogota The airplane, that had the Bogota-Miami route, took off of the Eldorado airport and reported a fault in one of its motors, to the 1:40 a.m. The 747 flew over the area of Ambalema (Tolima) to spend fuel and later it returned to Eldorado, and it landed to the 2:30 a.m. Kalitta was the proprietor of the airplane that the past 7 of July fell in the zone of Madrid (Cundinamarca), accident in which died two people. In an interview with the W, colonel Donald Tascon, assistant director of the Aerocivil, showed that already they are investigating to this company to determine the state of the airships and the conditions in which he realises his flights, because it is the second emergencia that reports less than in two months.

Incident: Kalitta B742 at Bogota on Aug 26th 2008, engine failure

The crew of a Kalitta Air Boeing 747-200 on behalf of Centurion Air Cargo, flight WE264 from Bogota (Columbia) to Miami,FL (USA), reported an engine failure on takeoff from Bogota. The airplane dumped fuel in the area of Ambalema for 40 minutes, then returned to Bogota for a safe landing 90 minutes after departure.

wOW..something is fishy over there...that could have been #3...something has got to be done..kudos to the crew for getting it down safely.

No kidding!

On the surface it smells of contaminated fuel in BOG or just incredibly really bad luck at Connie.

Ok take this for what you want, but I heard there's a fuel truck missing in Bogata after the crash......hmmmmmm. Hopefully there will be a thorough investigation into this latest incident.

The truck was found after three days of searching in a warehouse. It was as clean as new.
