Default Rumor: UPS canceling 767 order?

Word around the school house is that Atlanta is looking to cut capital expenditures and the 767s are on the chopping block.

Don't shoot the messenger, just relating what I heard.

Maybe converting them to something else??? 777s? 747-8s? I would be surprised to see them cancel those airframes. I believe we got a good price on them in return for Boeing to keep open the 767 production line while waiting for the Air Force tanker outcome...

I dont think the 8's will last forever. So I seriously think this is a turd in a bowl. 76's will be here soon. UPS loves the airplane.

I try not to listen to rumors until I see something in print. That being said, it would be sooooooooo short-sighted on UPS' part if this was to come true. Those airframes are needed in one way or another.

Do they actually like the performance or just the fact that it has no crew rest and its painful to the flight crew....

Maybe Boeing can't get round dials anymore from suppliers and UPS will not have it any other way so the order just gets cancelled....

The only way I can see UPS doing that is if they think there will not only be no growth in the future, but shrinkage, instead. I'm not that pessimistic about the future of mankind, and all that, but who knows what they are thinking....

Didn't the company just replace the 727 sim with a 767 sim?

Total BS rumor. They want them just for the fuel savings over the 8.

Unless you made a typo, he wasn't lying!

I heard that Brown is going to get a squadron of C-17's, since they already have so many pilots that know how to fly them.
