FDX - For All The Slow Learners

From the Union:

Given the timeline contained in Section 26.K. of our contract it seems unlikely that an arbitrated settlement for the B777 pay will be decided until sometime early next year. If management publishes a B777 bid this year as advertised, this circumstance should be part of your decision process. Please be aware that while we believe the pay for ULR aircraft has already been agreed to, arbitration always includes risk. A safe bet would be to bid the B777 if you will be satisfied with over 16 hour legs at domestic A300 pay.

i.e. If there is no pay rate OR a pay rate that is substandard...DON'T BID IT! Tell your friends...and enemies.

The only creek we are up is the one with guys who have no nads/cant see the writing on the wall/prattle about the AOC how they are the ballz for flying the most Advanzed thing out there...SNAFU.

It's a clear as a bell to me. Anyone who bids this thing before the pay is determined (even though BC said no worries) is actively working AGAINST us, and should never be fully trusted again. Ready for the incoming.
fbh
P.S. it's not in my standing bid.

There are tons of those guys and the company knows it.

We can't get guys to stop flying disputed pairings. So now you think they won't bid the 777?

I do not have the 777 on my standing bid. I am not sure that I would blame someone that chose to. Is it a surprise to anyone here that they aren't paying 380 rates for the 777? Arbitration may be the best bet, maybe we can get something in between. Of course the company locked in the 757 rates. The company gets the better of us again....

How about a paradigm shift? How about UPS' pay system based on seat position rather than seat position/aircraft type. Just a thought... Discuss...

Ahem, in the meantime we have peer pressure to exert, get the word out; shun the oldsters who bid the 777. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice..well, we know how the LOA for foreign domiciles turned out.

I hate to be a nay sayer, but there is no way a lot of guys are not going to bid this. I think they are crazy, but it will have some guys that would even fly it for narrow body rates that are senior and then a bunch of junior guys who will be able to hold wide body that could not otherwise. I think we are taking the wrong tactic on this because it won't work. There have been a hundred other things we could have done in the past to influence decisions that would have probably worked which we did not do. Now we are going to try talk people into not bidding a big shiney 777? Just going to breed more hate and discontent in the crew force. Like mentioned above other than ANC and Subic, have not been able to talk guys into not flying disputed pairings. I could be wrong, but guys still bid HKG even though it is not a financial bonanza just so they can sit in the captain seat, and they will bid this too.

Prediction: 777 pay rates are a moot point (or a moo point if your Joey Tribiani) because, and I quote from a future FCIF, "777 bid is delayed" because of boeing strike issues.

Just a continuing example of the truth......it is about $$, and I cant blame the Company (almost). They know we have way to many fools without a clue. To many examples to site! But, if everyone took it off of there standing bid, at least until the last day of a bid being open, we might see a change of heart by the Company. Actually IMO, you shouldnt bid it if there is no pay rate...period.
