what a bunch of s*^%. I can count numerous times I have caught atc putting my life and others in danger and have corrected them. sorry, i forgot, you always have to have pilot error.

It's funny, but in my opinion I think most other U.S. industry regulating organizations tend to actually SUPPORT the very industry they regulate.
I sometime think that the FAA/DOT won't be happy until every single pilot has some type of certificate action.

Additionally, it's funny to me that aviation is statistically one of the safest forms of travel in the U.S.
How many people are killed in car accidents every year? I guarantee statistically again it's a more than aircraft mishaps.
The DOT is not concerned about increasing regulation or improving safety standards for the every day vehicle commuter, but they want to increase oversight on an already highly scrutinized profession.
It's stinks of bureaucracy, and anyone who thinks are roads are safe, really hasn't driven enough on them.

Maybe Duane Woerth as FAA Administrator isn't such a bad deal???

Think what you might about how he performed as ALPA President, he has always been an advocate for pilots and for safety. It may be the best gift we get from Obama.
