The same Hopefulhairy that was thinking about flying A-10s but didn't want to go to Iraq? Well, at least you are proud, prouder, hopeful and ready. You've got that going for you, ......which is nice.

Maybe the computers could be hooked up to stationary bikes and some of the new federal employees could provide green pedal power.

Good luck Mr. President. The other 48% and 20% or so of swing voters will be watching.

Ok, let me try to save this thread, because I sense it will go downhill from here quick.

Can I just say that no matter what your political affiliation, I'm sure we all can agree that we hope the new President can turn this economy around, cut corporate greed, and garner some respect for the American worker in the form of increased pay, benefits and more secure retirements.

It's a tall order, but that's part of his job now and my prayers are with him.

Amen to that but one man cannot bring about the change that everyone has spoke of. But hopefully he can at least be, in a manner speaking, the cheerleader. It's up to the voters to TELL their representative on the direction that this country needs to take.

Since about 1999, government Jobs are more numerous than Manufacturing Jobs. As Long as that persists, we are just circling the Drain.

America passes a milestone!

No, just in the middle. But that has no relevance concerning the meaning of my post. The comment was meant in a much larger scope than just a bunch of FedEx schmoes losing some hours.

I can't believe that no one jumped on the fact that the original posting was so far off from the truth....did you happen to pick up some little clip from Fox News?

He did not call for the workers to accept lower wages, he applauded the willingness of people to throw aside greed to help their fellow worker. He never said that he was calling for more of this. It was one of many examples of coming together.

I just love how easy it is to throw around the word socialism to make people coming together sound like a bad thing. Those firefighters at the WTC sure were socialists. How dare they help their fellow americans!
