Maybe an (really big pay) ALPA National job? Maybe a senior Flight Ops management position (another really big paycheck)?

FdxFlyer,

Are you talking about seeing your block display after the Captain bid is run and before the FO bid is run? Or before the bid was actually posted on your calendar? I couldn't see that this month either.

I can see my block display now after the bid is complete and I was awarded a regular line. Do you think they have taken away the ability to see trips awarded on VTOs early on your block display after the trips drop out of open time? Just wondering.

VIPS also has a "Future Trips and Flights" (Activities Menu) function that sometimes has useful info with regard to your scenario.

Your first scenario. I also can see my Block Display now that the bids have all been run. I have no idea what they're doing with the software or why...?

I have to agree with you there. To hard sell the FDA LOA like he did, and push for the 65 language he did....gotta be something to it. We will possibly find out in the future.

If you look at the track record of our DO, nothing would surprise me.

"So, you think the individuals that WE have elected to our union positions, should be restricted from later taking a position in management. Brilliant!!

Yes, lets make sure that anyone that wants a management position has absolutely no allegiance to the union or to the crewforce. You know...Guys like Albeif, VL, Tony and maybe soon this Mongo dude..."

I understand your implication that we might undermine our best intentions by eliminating the direct conduit that currently exists between our union officer/committee chair positions and management positions. I wish everyone was as well intentioned as Tony C and others however, it seems that at least in recent history, we've been ill-served by those who made the switch.

Another issue is that of our union officers/committee chairs taking propietary information with them to management. LK for example, took his intimate knowledge of the grievance process and now applies it against us. That simply is unfair and should be prevented.

I like the suggestion of others here, that a 3 year delay is in order. Something that eliminates the incentive for management to manipulate our union officers/committee chairs and presents a disincentive for those with agendas that work against our best interests.

So that's what it is? You mean that pressing feeling is not really a sharp knife between the shoulder blades??

So what about the company standard answer of previous practice? will the union ever tell the company to stuff it and wait till negotiations... I think not.

LK is the most recent example but others are out there, and this inability to access Block Display is the next, although tiny step in degradation of QOL to all of us.

I heard LK got fired then rehired when HR got involved. All about not getting hired for the Int'l RCP job. Man, things sure have changed over there in mgmt the past 3 years or so....
