There is no vote. This is an arbitrated contract and it is now in the hands of said arbitrator. We hope to have the final word by mid-summer.......

Atlas has been posting the first officer position openings on Climb350 on a daily basis. They must be having trouble finding good applicants. You would think with the thousands of applications they have on file they could work off those. So what changes would be in the new contract?

Atlas is hiring and having classes every three weeks but it seems there is turnover. Guys are finding jobs elsewhere after getting hired at Atlas for various reasons.

HUM....Atlas is having turnover. What does that mean? Maybe those 16 day trips are not so great with a 50hr guar first year. SWA is only alowed to keep you out 4 days at a time and my friend who is a 4 year F/O is making 14K a month with no overtime. Follow the money and QOL always. With some of the majors and high paying cargos hiring again maybe the corporate strategy of "Just be happy to have a job" will finally go away.

Solid advice. Thanks for that little gem.

No Overtime? BS, he's working the system, Hard! 4 year FO's at UPS have to put forth a little effort to top that, and they get paid way more than a SWA FO.

A 4th year FO making 14K a month with no overtime? That seems highly unlikely. SWA pays per trip, not per hour but if you convert the trips to an hourly wage it comes to about $115/hour for a 4-year FO. So, if your friend is making $14K/month then he's working what equates to around 120 hours a month. That's serious overtime. I believe SWA's guarantee is equivalent to 78-79 hours/month. So, either he's working the system big time or else he has exaggerated his monthly income. At $14K/month without OT, that comes to $168K a year. I don't know any airline that pays FO's that well.

Agreed....typical SWA hyperbole

I do.
But, I guess that depends on your definition of an "airline".
