FYI: 3 HKG pilots have already used this CBA provision. 1 CA and 2 FOs. (That I know of)

I would assume or hope every person in HKG has changed their standing bid to get out of HKG even if they don't plan to do it on the final bid. Small base should stand behind their guys.

My best guess is the bid will come out at the end of this week. The last bid came out on April 28th last year. Interviews are continuing this week. The longer they wait, the worse the situation will get.

The company is still buying vacation back in HKG and CGN which tells me that they are not properly manned. With that being said it seems like they can only hold out so long before releasing the next bid.

My confusion is what is so bad or wrong with smaller, more frequent bids

What would have to speculate about on APC then? My god man, keep your efficient, logical ideas to yourself!

Default Lets Hope

Lets hope a comprehensive plan is being negotiated with a plan for 767 Pay rates that bump up the 757 to wide body, and fixing the FDA LOA for good, so they can open whatever aircraft they like in whatever market without trying to contort themselves. I'm hoping that's what's holding up the bid.

We've had enough false starts and distractions around this place with displacements, 4a2b and multiple cancelled bids. I hope they quit trying to bet the farm on one huge bid. Its hard on us, hard on the bean counters. It ought to be an evolving process with lots of smaller bids. If they want guys to settle down, focus on professionalism and be safe, they need to stop this Cataclysmic Bid mentality.

It's time to for us all to settle down and start making money.

Heard in the school house today that the newhire class for May was canceled. Apparently to allow the new bid to happen and then put the next batch of newhires where they need to go. Also heard that the new bid will show a shift away from using captains as RFOs on the 777.

If that is the case then the bid may not be out until mid May and then 3 weeks to close and a week or so for a training letter.
