Default MEM Hotels

Are there any hotels in the MEM area that pick-up and drop-off at the FedEx Flight Ops location? I hear some guys stay at the Southaven Holiday Inn frequently.

The Courtyard on Nonconnah Blvd is a great place to stay. The pilot rate is $59 plus tax. Their number is (901) 396-3600. I just book on-line at a military rate (if it's available then they'll give you the pilot rate, if you can't book the military rate, generally they are close enough to a sell out that they won't give you the pilot rate when down to their last few rooms). The national reservation line doesn't know about the pilot rate, you have to book it directly by phone or convert the rate on arrival at the front desk.

They will drop or pickup at airport, AOC/Jumpseats, or Airways Training Facility (e.g. Module D) 24 hours a day. The van leaves the hotel on the hour and half hour and it's reliable. They now have a reasonable "grill"/restaurant in the lobby for breakfast and dinner, and a Subway is across the street. Those are the only eating options unless you order BBQ or Chinese delivery or have a car.

I have been using the Fairfield on S Perkins just off of I240. They arent the cheapest at around $65 with the FX discount, but they will take you to training, AOC, and other places. There is an Ihop, Lennys sub shop, and a Popeyes for food. Ihop 10% discount for FX folks. The hotel also has a free and decent breakfast in the mornings. And they usually give you a suite. And the FX uniform store is around the corner. Phone is 901 795-1900.

+1. This hotel is surprisingly nice given the area of town it's located in. We stayed there during winter ops events. I wouldn't count on the subway, though. It's (at least as of last fall) only open breakfast/lunch hours and I think only Monday-Friday.
