ATSG first quarter report just published. The big news is ATSG announced deals to dry lease two additional 767 -200s to CargoJet AND two additional 767-300s to Amerijet. I think we know where those planes are coming from.
ATSG also announced other similar deals are in the works and will be consumated soon.
It looks like Hete has decided he prefers to be in the dry leasing business instead of the CMI business.
Oh, also, Hammer is a D-bag.

It would be a huge improvement if ATSG would fire J.V., E.W. and C.H.
What ATI needs right now is real leadership and a marketing department that can find work for these 767's.
I've never seen "management" destroy two good airlines as quickly as these guys have.

Ijust listened to the conference call. Here are some of the highlights:
two 767-300 dry lease to Amerijet
two 767-200 dry lease to Cargo Jet.
One 767-200 dry lease to West Atlantic.
More similar deals are in the works.
Stated positive news, reduction of airline staff by 10% since last year.
Airlines continue to struggle with losses. Includes losses for ABX AND ATI.
Sounds like Hete is moving away from CMI and going more toward the dry lease business.
I think he might be positioning ATSG for a reduction in CMI business through DHL after this year. Once the CMI business drops below a certain level, the overhead of running an airline(s) might not be able to support the shrinking aspect of the business.

Where is the second 767-300 coming from? CAM? I assume one is 319CM but 316CM seems to be flying steady for the time being at least. As much as they want to continue to gut ATI, keeping at least one 767-300 at ATI makes sense.

Just found a link to the Cargojet deal. It was posted about a week ago but wanted to share it in this forum.

Heard that Amerijet is planning to open a freight operation at Rickenbacker using 727's, 767's and also ground shipping. I know some of their 767's are from CAM, and they are supposed to get more of ATI's 767's.
Also poses the question, if Amerijet is able to put 767's to work and are leasing more, why can't ATI do the same. It's like they aren't even trying.
727 scheduled freight airlines (supplementals) definitely have a life to them. (Kitty Hawk, Capital Cargo, Ryan, Express One, Custom Air, Astar, etc) Hope they can make it work in Rickenbacker.
