More precisely, the views expressed in this forum and in many other FedEx pilot venues of late have evolved to indignation, as opposed to simple anger. Also, they have their basis in fact as opposed to just emotion. That is an important distinction.

Current management, and their apologists will surely try to downplay and marginalize any crewforce discontent rather than directly addressing the conditions that cause that discontent. That would help explain the SCP's disingenuous and rather comical solicitation for input, something which is UN-becoming of his position. How could anyone profess to be so ignorant without resigning?

Creatures that live under rocks can be quite slimy. It would benefit them to come out into the light and dry out from whatever punch they are drinking. It may involve looking in a mirror.

Skeebo is right. The number of the indignant are growing. Once individual pilots finally decide to work collectively, as opposed to being so-called "independent contractors" we'll have the contract we deserve -- and the management we deserve.

Commonly found in the HOA office complaining about the retired stock brokers with game who are getting digits and playing their music too loudly. Identified by bad hair and teeth and an increasingly gross belly. Telling any number stories of landing in the goo with 25-knot crosswind (as if anyone cares) and the time when they told the chief pilot to stick it, they weren't flying the freight because they didn't get their catering.

Hangs out with CompetentFool, and rolls on the floor laughing out loud, stands as the voice of reason in an unreasonable world, has award night every Friday with a speech and soundtrack with applause.

But we love you jetjok, and your fake hair and toe jam, and I'll gladly hub turn for the next twenty years to fund your retirement, or ten years, or five, however long you grace us with your wisdom and wit.

Now stop being a Jetjok and find a real hobby, like knitting, 'cause air force guys love to knit, or cats.

No, I didn't feel it was particularly funny, and I wasn't drunk. Strange you should ask. The curt, sarcastic comment was more of a feel for the mood of the thread. Did it bother you? Did you feel better afterwards intimating that I'm not particularly funny? That I don't amuse you? At least mine was original, whereas yours was a boorish slam. The type of sideline criticism from high-brow twits. You didn't like my dig at retired types who have nothing better to do than cling to the past then kindly move on, Siskel.

Is this funnier for you?
Should I have another drink?
But you are are just another cliche aren't you, your opinions overinflated and rather self important. In other words: your typical pilot.
Don't be typical, but I fear it's too late.
Cheers.

Unfortunately there is some truth to this "un" list. Our Westins and Hyatts are turning into Courtyards and Garden Inns. As if it isn't hard enough sleeping during the day. It will work itself out though since now we are flying multiple legs after the sort so sleep is easier to come by, even if it's the fatigued micro naps looking into the sun. We will once again become applicants last choice as the legacies regain prominence. This place has gone down the sh*tter in the last three years. No more favors from me. The managers just don't realize that a happy crew force saves money and gets the freight moved. Ill will and penny pinching goes both ways.

I disagree.

It started when they used a 727 SO "excess" bid to fill widebody CA/FO vacancies that weren't really there.

One time good deal to help the Jack Pack.

"Our Westins and Hyatts are turning into Courtyards and Garden Inns."

I recently had a conversation with one of the women who manage our hotel contracts about this very issue. She said they were told by corporate that their budget goal this year is a 3% reduction in costs. The only way to achieve that in an area where things are only getting more expensive because hotels are running at 85% occupancy rate and higher and can therefore afford to drop our contracts because we're paying less, is to move us to cheaper properties.

"The managers just don't realize that a happy crew force saves money and gets the freight moved."

Management doesn't care if we're happy because the freight keeps moving because we're all A types who get the job done in spite of management. When we all take the scheduled deadhead instead of deviating; we call-in fatigued if the hotel is sub par; and we fly to the schedule, then and only then will management consider making improvements.
