Kalitta Air now accepting FO applications

Max I have not flown overtime. I just call sked and tell them they are liars when they say there is nothing for me So far seems to work pretty well. And I also do not have a paypal account. I was at Republic, I know how to hustle.

A matter that I will be critical of you of is, Republic is a cakewalk compared to where most of us have come from. I personally am on my 8th job in 8 years and I just started my 5th year here at Kalitta. I am by no means an exception.
A new industry segment leading contract will solve most of the ills here at K4 and make the ones still remaining acceptable to most of us. I just hope the company figures this out before we go out of business for failure to staff our flights. We are already subcontracting flights due to lack of lift. It is only going to get worse until K4 becomes a desirable place to put some roots down.
Funny thing is that the management seems to understand that CPDLC, ACARS, AeroData, 747-800 FMS and other things give them a good ROI. They just don't seem to understand yet that if they don't invest in their employees that that wil be a very poor ROI in the long run.

Max I have never heard of line 0 and needless to say although the info is shocking I cannot say I'm surprised... I imagine it's terrible that you haven't broken 100 - I have heard of this too but it just doesn't make sense. CrewTrac would sort all this out but hey, we are just drivers right And losing MISA was pretty bad. In the long run though, it will prevent the OT callers from knowing, which may help create some unity back. I thought it was a great divisive thing that the company did but hey that's me!

I personally think it is a flawed policy put out by the union leadership. It has not really had much of an effect in comparison to the pilot shortage. I had proposed that the union advocate working OT as an olive branch, helping the company to grow. It was flatly rejected. That being written I may disagree but I am still not working days

I bid the lowest value lines around the days off I want and get within my first 5-6 choices. Somehow, even with trying to avoid flying, I have not had less than 80 pay credit for the past 3 months. Twice this year over 100 credit. Once I did get 62 but I took that whole month off.
I have no answers as to why (outside of the OT *****s and CS suck ups), some fly more than others. I run on the basis of do as little possible right now and no favors for them, try and insist on being on my line but somehow they keep me moving.

Going on five years at K4.... have only not broken guarantee twice in 2015.. Jan and Feb.. and Feb I had AQP. I don't fly days off.. never have... never will.. even after a new contract... lol.
had several months credited in the high 60s... a few in the 70s.... a few more in the 80s... NOV was 89.9... Oct was 100.9.... In looking back at my year... the months I was in the 60s... were months I ended up "out of position"... or back in CVG for the weekend (little flying) or for whatever reason spent 3 or 4 days in HKG.....
Due to the fact that the actual bid awards don't mean anything to CS...... its a mystery to me why some guys ALWAYS seem to have big months ... some guys NEVER have big months... and the rest of us are in between....
Losing MISA sucks..AGAIN... but whatever... I come to work and do my 14-17 days on.. and go home.

Hey, so this is my first post but I've been reading APC for the past year and following this thread in particular... I'm in a bit of a jam and need some advice.. I was just recently offered a position at K4 which I accepted.. I was also scheduled for class at Western Global, which I ended up turning down after the K4 offer.. I wanted to see what everyone else thought about it.. I know that the guys are a little upset over at K4 and the possibility of a strike concerns me.. Still, I feel that it is a better company and that I would have more options in the future if I went to K4.. The only thing I was told about Western is that it's a fast upgrade.. What do you guys think?? Like I said, I'm looking forward to class at K4... Thanks...
