This is third hand and I didn't see a privacy statement on it so I will share it.

Fellow Members,
We are pleased to report that International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Airline Division, Local 1224 and Kalitta Air have reached an agreement in principle on a new collective bargaining agreement. The agreement would not have been possible without the leadership and support we received from Airline Division Director David Bourne, the leadership of Local 1224, the members of the Kalitta Air Executive Council, the Union Negotiating Committee, Local 1224 staff and attorneys and the National Mediation Board. We would also like to thank Conrad Kalitta and members of management for the role they played in bringing negotiations to a successful conclusion.
In the coming days and weeks, members of the two negotiating committees will meet to assemble the tentative agreement. Prior to releasing the tentative agreement, the parties will proof read and format the document, as well as review and agree upon the status of all existing letters of agreement, memoranda of understanding and similar agreement. After that process is completed, we will release the tentative agreement to the membership. The Union will conduct an education campaign so that every member understands the terms of the tentative agreement. The membership will vote on whether to accept or reject the proposed tentative agreement. The Executive Council and Negotiating Committee will strongly recommend that you ratify the proposed contract.
We will release a detailed summary in the future. Highlights of the agreement in principle include:
➢ Industry leading scope/job security protections
➢ 55% increases to hourly pay rates
➢ Reduced duty period limits and enhanced rest provisions
➢ A 16 day schedule
➢ Benefit improvements
➢ Hostile area flying protections
➢ Business class travel requirements
The membership stood by their union from the beginning until the end of this long process. We have no doubt that you will agree that it was worth the time, effort and sacrifices. We will continue to provide you with updates in the future. Congratulations to every member and our union on a job well done!

We will vote up or down on what is good for the crews who actually work at K4.

Not knowing much about cargo ops, why is Rig a big deal?

It says that they're going to be able to be kept out for 16 days which is reasonable, BUT ACMI carriers have a history of sending crews out into the system for 16 days (or longer) and sitting them for prolonged periods of time without flying them much. So the devil is in the details... $268 is a record hourly rate for ACMI, but if they've got a 62 hour guarantee and no Rig they'll be kept out for 16 days from home, fly less than 62 hours every month and get 62 hours pay. If you're getting even 5 hours a day of Rig 16 days on the road costs the company a minimum of 80 hours of pay. What's written above is very vague with the work rules which will be crucial with a number like $268 an hour that's still a little behind industry standard. I'm really hoping Kalitta gets a great contract because I'm at Atlas and it should help us.

Does it make you feel better to be such an a$$ to someone on an anonymous board? When you actually grow up, feel free to make a forum contribution.
