I think if you show up in a purple tie....your two-day interview will become a one-day interview. Why look different? Study hard, wear a red tie & blue'ish suit...get the nod and be happy.

Magic, Maybe you have forgotten what the hiring process is like. But I'm sure anyone who is serious about getting hired, is going to make sure every little thing is correct. Appearance does matter. The red tie issue is kind of a long ago joke. Everyone looks like clones in the interview.
