I'm confused. What have I posted that makes y'all think I'm a management or otherwise company cheerleader? I've posted previously that the CBA sucks but until we renegotiate a new one we are stuck. I've tried to make it clear to anyone contemplating coming here to thoroughly research what they are getting into. Southern is definitely not for everyone. Reading all of these posts should give them the good, bad, and ugly.

I encourage everyone in the lower 50% on the master seniority list to either take the B737 upgrade or find another job with decent upgrade potential. Widebody upgrade here is a long, long way off just as it is at Atlas and Kalitta. Thankfully, many are figuring that out on their own and moving on to greener pastures. I'm proud of them. If we were adding widebodies most would stay unless offered a Legacy job or equivalent. Pilots follow the money and time off.

I dont make any extra money from training. I believe the Check Airmen get paid the override whether they are conducting training or not? It makes no difference whether they are flying a line trip or conducting OE.

I AM A REALIST! Unless the attrition becomes obscene, management will still be able to fill new hire classes and put meat in the seat. If y'all think your pathetic, ****ing into the wind attempt at bashing Southern here on APC will effect management's ability to fill classes then you are bigger fools then I currently think. A 25% attrition rate will not force the execs to the bargaining table or get them to throw us a bone. Crew shortage and canceled flights will get their attention. That happened briefly on the 737 but will soon be overcome. Wasting your time whining on APC will not effect management. ROFLMFAO. The pile of resumes in the office is probably still huge.

Thankfully, many in the lower seniority group are seeing no chance for wide body upgrade and are either moving to the Guppy or going elsewhere. That is the wise move. HOWEVER, for those that want to just sit in the right seat of the 777 with little to no chance of upgrade and and just snivel and complain....well I have very little respect for the position you are putting yourself in. Either upgrade, $TFU, or quit! Why stay? Get your time in the 777, take the next 737 upgrade, and take a better job when offered. I do not want to see direct entry captains again but due to senior FO's being unwilling/unable to upgrade we will by the end of the year.

I'm not afraid to call bs when I see it. That includes former SAI, non-737 or 777 pilots posting war stories of how it used to be. Their experience is not relative to what a new hire may currently face. The operation runs much smoother now. If you believe otherwise you have not been here long.

I've received numerous PM's from potential new hires thanking me for trying to give accurate, relative information from the middle ground. Hopefully, the HORROR OF SAI that some spew on here, in combination with my posts, allows them to make a more informed decision. That is all I want....informed, capable, willing to work to make it a better place, new hires.

For those already here.... if you came here and are now "shocked" that 777 upgrade is a decade away, long haul flying makes you tired, you are still stuck with old pay rates, or whatever other abuse you are suffering from....then you did not make an informed decision to come here. You only have yourself to blame. For downgraded captains I feel for you. That sucks and hopefully you will be back in the left seat soon.

Like arseholes everyone has an opinion. Everyone can express their's on an anymous web board like this and anyone else can point out their folly or bs or sit around in a circle jerk and congratulate those with like feelings. For me, I'm trying to provide a service and different point of view from the haters. Plus, I love the entertainment value provided by **$$ing off thin skinned whiners.

FLAME ON!

The last DEC was over 12 years ago.

You give me grief for giving "outdated advice", yet you continue to talk about my company which you know nothing about.

That's cool. I really do not know much about NCA. It must be a far different experience then what all of the expats at JAL had. I'm happy you found a place that works for you. Hopefully your expat job is secure and you'll be able to upgrade there someday.

Hey, Strikes!

Why don't YOU go to the 737??? Then you can REALLY give us your informed opinion!!!

Since your NOT on that aircraft how can you have a valid opinion?

Does management give you a pay override for each post you put on APC? Just kidding!

Why would I go to the 737 when I'm a 777 captain? That makes no sense for me.

Life on the B737 has been well documented on here. I don't ague any of the points that the 737 pilots make. I wish it were better for them and it would have been if we'd been smarter as a group and voted down the first LOA. I did but there was not enough of us. Live and learn hopefully.

If someone is a 777 FO with no chance of 777 upgrade, has already checked their "international wide-body box", and they do not want to remain in that position forever, then why not suck it up and take the 737 upgrade? Why? I just don't get it.

Opportunity is available yet FO's in current deadend position are afraid to grab it. Yeah, it might not be as cushy as the Triple but it will lead to future employment opportunity. Why? I just don't get it?

Diesel, you have been around this crazy industry awhile maybe you can explain it to me? I'm not being an arse. I just don't understand the reasons for staying a FO. Pay is almost the same for working your arse off on the 777 or flying below guarantee as a Guppy Captain. So pay is not it. At a legacy with real work rules and a retirement I can understand some of the reasons for delaying upgrade. But at Southern?

And yes....DS takes me out on his boat for bbq and beers as payback for pi$$ing y'all off. Lol. It's a nice boat. You out to check it out....the SS Soapsuds.

My experience and opinion are relevant. I was offered a recall on the 737 and turned it down based on my experience with and feelings towards upper management and some line check airman.

If I didnt have my current position I would have still likely turned it down unless there was absolutely nothing better.

That's my message to those applying, don't take the job unless there is absolutely nothing better. That is relevant.
Are the schedules different? Sure. Is the equipment different? Yes.
Is the management the same? Yup!
The same management that will screw pilots over in a heartbeat.

But I guess I shouldn't post Since I don't currently work there flying the 737...

As to why people don't go to the 737 from 777 FO:
No home basing
Horrible commute
Worse schedules
No guarantee that 737 time will provide a job elsewhere
Pay cut
Personal reasons you may not be aware of

Actually, I am referring to the CP DH of about a year ago. DT retired along time ago, I am not sure what was in between.

They offered me the 777 so i'm taking it. I've read every post from page 27 to current. It works for me (right now), I'm a team player..... I get it! NOW, what keys to success, "that's relevant" and current do you "SAI" only guys/girls (if any) have in order to be successful at SAI? Not talking upgrade, capisce?
