It might be a desirable opportunity for a new hire ... why couldn't (wouldn't?) they hire directly into HKG?

And on a separate and unrelated topic ... Happy Holidays everyone, it's been an honor and pleasure flying with you.

I think they've hired direct to HKG before. Great opportunity for someone!

Interesting to me that they filled secondaries on the A300, but not the MD11. I am afraid despite how much I enjoy the jet the fleet is rapidly shrinking. Time to go embrace flying Mr Boeing's products now.

Before they gooned it up with a HUD bump on the nose, the jet was just unbelievably quiet...especially after 7 years on the 727. Its time to go make a new friend...

Who would want to come to FedEx and be poor in a foreign domicile, deal with the absolute toxic environment we have now, fly life shortening night hub turns, and have very little movement in seniority, when they could go to Delta and get 1500 guys below them in a year with profit sharing? I wouldn't recommend this company to any pilot looking for a job. We have quickly descended into one of the airlines of last resort.

All airlines have a toxic environment, at times. It's part of the business.

I see you're a fan of KoolAid. Never cared for the stuff myself.

Not during times of record corporate prosperity they don't

Congrats on the upgrade and learning a new airplane. I'm right there with you about 13 numbers ahead. I will miss the MD as well but I can see the writing on the wall for the MD as well, its a slowing dying fleet and I would have gone backwards in seniority if I had stayed in LA.

The wife is onboard so we will be packing up the family and making the move to HK. Maybe I'll see you in the school house!
