Default St. Maartin

Stand on the beach by the airport and get hit in the head by a KLM 744 tire. Every crazy low approach there on youtube seems to be a KLM airplane.

Where are all the American Eagle drivers on this thread. Come up with something good so the rest of us know where to go when we're on vacation.

I am not a pilot yet but when my wife and I went to St.Kitts for our honeymoon we flew back to Puerto Rico on an American Eagle ATR 72. Not to bad of a flight except for the kid screaming his head off at 6:30am.

The bar next to the beach at the end of the runway rages til 2 or 3 as I remember. There is a good dance club that was open until 3. Lots of fun. There are really nice beaches on the French side of the Island. You will need a car if you want to get around the island. Things are pretty spread out. Crime seemed to be almost non-existant.

Cheri's by the MAHO was allways a fun time, and there is a casino right next to that. The beach at the end of the runway frequently has hot topless women. and if you can rent a car a trip to Front street...shop your arse off with great prices on everything from booze jewlery to electronics. Or head to the other side of the island to Orient beech, its totally nude...nudist colony right on the beach...the scenery is sometimes kinda scary, but every once in awhile you catch a good looker. great little rib shack on orient beach too.

Default Dutch Side by the Airport

Staying out by the airport, you can't go wrong. You have the casino and the piano bar - The Sopranos. And of course The Beach Bar at the end of the runway.

St. Marteen is by far my favorite island in the carribean. The sunset beach bar Is awsome . Just be aware of the car break ins that seem rampid.

Car break-ins (opportunistic stealing) are true for a lot of Caribbean islands. My car was always empty with the windows down so they didn't have to break a window to find it had nothing in it.

Any inexpensive places to stay, or hotels that give discounts to airline pilots? Would love to head there when I have a few days off.
