The worst thing about Omni is, Omni. The people you work with, you'll form a relationship with; the maintenance people, the flight attendants, the other crew members, the handlers, even the passengers. As it's been said on here before the company as an operation stand-point is great. You just have to deal with the company. We work with a lot of people on the other side of the airplane back in Tulsa that have no clue what's really going on with the real operation. They don't know how to schedule, they don't know how to book decent travel, they don't know what minimums are, they look for the easy out because they are scared of their bosses, dispatchers will try to screw you and do a lot of cut and paste.
Yes, not every airline has to deal with a boat load of what we have to here at the Big O but we all get the job done. It's a lot of front end crews working together to get the flight or flights done. We back each other up, we work well with each other, we double check not only dispatch but also scheduling and travel. That's Omni. If you're looking for a really, really, really good\easy company to fly to the ends of the earth with your information being sent to you via ACARS, CDPLC or Data Link, well that's not here. Be prepared to work, hard. Know your stuff and come to plane prepared. More than prepared.
I stand by my pervious comments of it's still not a bad place to work. You'll learn the 767 or 777 probably better than any company. (I can't say that for sure cause this is my first type in either plane.) But you'll fly to places you'd never thought you'd go and to destinations you'll never go again. You'll operate in airports that 767 or 777 don't usually land. And you'll do all that with little to no help from the company. You'll get more experience here in six months that you ever will flying for any regional.
You can come get a job at Omni and in six month or six years you'll go to in an interview at your next airline or dream job, and those looking through your logbook will say: "where in the world is XXXX airport?" And even if you're an FO in that position sitting across from a hiring board, to me, the fact that some judging captain on if you get hired or not is asking you that means you have a little bit of a leg up in the hiring process.

I now know, how Hetman gets his good schedule. (great movie) I guess what ever it takes. If all the accounts here are accurate, we do have two different scheduling processes. I don't know if the discrepancies are between the two airframes or if scheduling has their favorites. I don't know if being a favorite means sitting at home or sitting on the road.
My best month does not compare to some of the worst months of others. So for the folks shopping around if you come to Omni you will be on the road 18 days a month with two flights and 15 days in a hotel. Then things will go south and you will be held out one or two days due to a SNAFU. By the time you are on your way home it will be a 30hr day due to Gateway in your middle seat. If none of this happened it was a good month.

Is this a for serious statement? Or some kind of joke or? You're a hard one to read.
I have done more for this pilot group in the last 6 months than the ExCo himself has done since he took the seat.
I'm not here to defend myself, I'm just here to voice some of what it's really like so that heroes of justice like yourself aren't the only ones feeding a line about change for the better, yet your name is nowhere to be found on the Union Volunteer list...

My apologies, I didn't realize you works for APC where you'd actually have access to my personal information.

There is no consistency at all to what your month will be like from bid to bid, and your bid does not matter except for days off (which sort of matter).
If you want to make cash give up all your days off and never go home, seriously. You'll make a **** ton of money and that's the only way to do it. Even the white knights in this thread can't say I'm wrong about that. You won't ever break guarantee so volunteer is the only way to ever get more than min pay. There is no "soft time" here.

Tossed an engine, can't find a replacement. Assuming it will be there for quite a while. Surprise! Nobody wants to lease us another one...must have ****ed off quite a few people for that to happen.

as usual Khal you do not know what you are talking about -- a loaner engine from United is headed out that way -- will take time to change then fly it to probably DFW to change it to return to United -- will cost -- but
it has to be done - it was a precaution shutdown for oil pressure
