Still looking brother. I was in contact with a potential option on craigslist. My family will arrive in June, so looking for something short term.
If you have any ideas, please let me know.
Thanks,
Lifter

They are pretty firm on the Multi PIC. One guy in my class had around 400-450 and they grilled him on why they should hire him with lower time like that. They are hiring folks that they think can upgrade within 3-5 years.
This guy with lower multi pic had heavy Boeing international time with some solid internal recs which probably helped sway the decision in his favor.

Hey guys, looking into applying to Sun Country and wondering if someone could chime in and help me out with a few questions.
1. What are the reserve rules like and how long can a new hire expect to be on reserve?
2. Once you are able to hold a line, what are those like? Mostly day trips or longer ones?
3. What are the health insurance benefits like?
4. What are the travel benefits like? Are there zed agreements with any airlines?
5. Overall, how's the work environment and relationship with management?
I really appreciate any input you guys can provide. Thanks!

Those jobs aren't flying 737's. A 737 is supposed to be a career position. Those other jobs are entry level positions. If you turn a 737 into an entry level position, there will be no career positions left. I hope you finish your career at Sun Country. You deserve it.

There are guys here that make a good living. It obviously could be better. There are a handful of captains here that make 200k+ and FO's that make 100k+. It will get better with a new contract. Ill enjoy my time at home and not shuffling around the world from hotel to hotel. I get to see my wife and kid all the time. I've enjoyed only having 20 overnights this year. I know you will rip on me for our crap pay but my family is happy i'm home more than 10 days a month...

Yes, we have a class of 6 starting in October. They might run one more small class in Nov or Dec. 4+/- new hires in that class.. As of the end of the year they will haev hired close to 50. The union is meeting with the company twice a month. Getting some Issues TA'ed. The big issues such as pay rates, 401k will be the last issues to resolve and may lead to getting resolved at the 11th hour or getting released. Some people are optimistic that it will be resolved by years end... we will see. Good Luck

Making the jump
Hey all, looking for some advice and input. I'm a local guy working for a decent regional on 3rd year FO pay, about 500 #'s from seeing an upgrade. I'd estimate about another 1.5-2 years before it's even realistic.
I live in base now and bid 25% so my QOL has been really good. We have no kids and my wife has a great job she doesn't want to leave. I'm young enough to still have hope for one of the big majors, but we love MSP and that's certainly one of the most appealing things about Sun Country. The schedules are also a big drawing point for me. I could certainly see myself at SC for life. From the outside, it seems like an awesome group of pilots.
I'm hesitant, however, to make the jump. It would be a pay cut, at least for 2 years, and I don't currently have any TPIC. I know there's been bankruptcies, and seasonal drawdowns, etc. Furthermore, I'm not too arrogant to think I'm even competitive for a job at SC. So it may be a moot point.
Before all the naysayers come on and say "Get the job, then decide." Yeh well, that's great. It doesn't always work that way.
Any and all advice and other considerations are welcome. Thanks in advance.
