I have flown with all three in the past. Two, I've known for years. I'm not going to go into the "whys" but I can't support any of them. Much like any politician, I really don't care what they have to say prior to an election. I care more about what they say and do when they're not asking for my vote.

A. It's based on my experiences and views on these guys and I don't wish to bad mouth someone on a public forum.
B. Everyone needs to vote their concious and not based on what someone they may not even know says on a public forum.

What really bothers me is that no one wants to ask the hard questions directly in a form that it can be reported elsewhere from the NextGen slate.
I have new info, but I'll report later on it's fruition. I really can't believe the BS they are doing at NextGen and the crewmembers they are willing to toss under the bus for their benefit.

"One of the first things we’ll address when in office is a disparity in pay that is occurring for some of our new pilots. What we mean by this is the fact that new hire First Officers with higher seniority are being paid less just because by chance they were placed, by the company, on smaller aircraft. Our whole system is based on seniority, and this is a complete distortion of the seniority system and a grave injustice to the pilots affected. It is one thing to bid down, but something completely different to be placed with no choice in a lesser paying position. Once off probation pilots should either be allowed to bid onto higher paying equipment or be pay protected. This is an industry standard practice which should be incorporated here. Correcting this pay distortion is one of our top priorities when we get in office and will be dealt with IMMEDIATELY."
This is from the "Atlas Pilots United" site. IS THIS REALLY OUR MOST important issue????? I guess it is at the CVG breakfast table. Hmmmm, wonder where these folks priority's are. MAYBE a survey would be a better tool for finding our key issues vs the CVG breakfast table or hub turn chit chat? We should be telling them what we want, not the other way around! I may be off base, the other 900 of us may consider this an issue, a survey would be tell them that.
This is an issue that affects less that 100 pilots and will be fixed in a couple years by the 767 becoming the junior plane. Why is it such an issue?
I would say that most of our 747 FO's, up in ANC are actually bringing less home per month that the 767 guys stuck in CVG, due to imputed income for tickets to ANC and hotel. And I know they're traveling a lot more on their time to get to ANC. Should this be addressed, because if you fix the 767 FO's, now those junior 767 FO's will be making more (take home) than senior 747 guys.
My point is, I'm worried about their priority's!

"No Letters of Agreement will be signed without membership ratification. However, in situations where time is of the essence, agreements may be reached with the company only if an immediate benefit to the membership is enacted. A 120-day window will be opened for membership ratification to support such an agreement. Should such an agreement not be supported by the membership, the agreement will be reversed, as will the benefits enacted to the membership."
This is from the NexGen Atlas site?
Really. What kind of negotiations is this going to lead to? We will pay a heavy price if each and every agreement is subject to being reversed. What are we electing these people for, just being messengers. We have to empower them to make decisions.
Imagine you're car shopping and one dealership wants the right to come repo the car in two weeks for no reason. You would expect to pay less to give them that right. We will get less if this is our policy.
What is it worth to you to have a say in EVERYTHING they do? My vote is a vote of confidence in the people I'm voting for. I want them to be able to make decision on my behalf.

that the problem with true democracy. it is chaos or close to it. if everyone gets a say-so on everything then chaos will rule. this is what the nxgen doesnt understand. there is a reason that we use a representative republic for our group. we elect our reps for a reason. if everyone gets to vote on everything then why do we need the nxgen,,,,or any exco. this is not solidarity,,,it is exactly the opposite. seems like kindergarden. when i looked at the website i couldn't help but ask myself what is their plan? what is their plan to do anythign except show us their paystub. very silly.

CA Kevin McCabe In my opinion Kevin is burned out. His “What are you willing to give up” has been heard way too often.
CA Mike Griffith I will vote for Mike, he is a hard worker and dedicated to the crews and wants nothing but a better work place for all of us.
CA Laurie Ruiz de Castilla Do not know her well enough to give an opinion.
FO Kevin Scott I think Kevin will be a good member and has my vote.
FO Katerina Silbaugh Do not know her well enough to give an opinion.
Nextgen
CA John Alexander Not on your life! This would be the biggest mistake that any of you thinking of voting for him will ever make.
FO Jeff Canter After a long conversation with Jeff I would not vote for him in any capacity.
FO Chris Knox The fact that these four gentleman have been informed of John Alexander’s past and continued practices, and are still willing to support him and run with him, I would not consider any one on this slate.
FO Dan Lennox
FO Michael Milaszewicz
Atlas Pilots United
CA Bob Kirchner I think Bob is our best and only hope of a strong leadership.
CA Pat Petersen I cannot in good conscious endorse Captain Peterson.
FO Eric Johansson Do not know him well enough to give an opinion.
CA Derek Shrout Do not know him well enough to give an opinion.
FO John Bell Do not know him well enough to give an opinion.
Independent
CA Brad Gehr I would not vote for Captain Gehr for dog catcher let alone any position on the ExCo. The sooner we rid ourselves of his over inflated ego and self-importance the better!

It's been a VERY long time since you heard him say it, but others are happy to repeat it at every opportunity. Interesting, the two times I heard Kevin say it, was when people wanted things from the company prior to sec 6 negotiations. No matter what you believe, you never get something for nothing, hence, what are you willing to not get to get something else. If we were to approach the company and ask for anything, their first question would be ....well you know. He was simply telling them what they don't want to hear.
Even if we have leverage, WE have to decide how to spend it wisely. We do not want to ask for things that the company can neutralize. Example, trip/line protection. I know this is a hot item for some but, if the company wants to, they can just make most the trips equal to CRT, completely negated what we gave leverage for. Increase in guarantee, again, they will just keep us out until CRT equals guarantee. These are just examples. We need to think a step ahead, just like when we're flying.
Bottom line, I think Kevin has learned a lot.

Eric has done a heck of a job taking on the hotel committee chair job and has been hands on with Jay B. getting some much improved hotels. Jay and him have been all over the company when they try and pull fast ones.
