Hi all, just been curious on what some of the longest commutes you know of at your company that a pilot makes to get to work? Being an experienced LAX to ORD based commuter, I just wanted to see how far some of you stretch your commutes? Since the schedules are better at the majors, I figured there are some long commutes that pilots choose to make so they never have to live in places like EWR, DFW, DTW, etc. Longest commute I've heard was a UAL CA commuting North Australia-LAX.

On a side note, I'm talking about pilots that commute to regular schedules, not month on month off type schedules.

I am well aware commuting sucks, but sometimes home is never to far away in this business..

I have a friend at UPS who is doing HKG-ANC. He was doing HKG-SDF!

I know of lots of guys that used to do East Coast to ANC and East Cost to HNL. They don't have to do that anymore, as we shut down those pilot bases. They were both regular line holders and reserves. Most would bid one long trip or trips back to back as to only have to make the commute one a month. I have heard of much longer commutes from Asia, but don't know any of those guys.

We have a few that do LHR->HKG... and they're in their 60s!

I know of 2 that commute LHR-JFK, and one who now has to go LYS-BRU-JFK since we stopped our JFK-LYS service.

We have one that also does CDG-JFK.

Have a friend who used to commute from Durban, South Africa to Newark. He burned out after a few years and is now on LTD!
