And to pour salt in the wound we just had a large 747 displacement bid at DAL (which conveniently owns 49% of VA). That displacement may as well be a pay cut for the pilot group since as far as I can tell, we don't have similar paying widebodies arriving on property for a couple of years.
So, I don't have any regrets voting NO.

I think they said top paying jets here is 5% of the fleet and at FedEx it is 70% of their fleet.
But I think that's wrong actually. As the 744s exit I think 2% of our fleet is top paying as compared to 15% of ual and 70% of FedEx.
We are going to become a domestic airline with a massive rj fleet and token international flights.
But as curly said on chit chart, normal ops, nothing to see here.

The new United, and new American will emerge from their merger woes and they will be the true powerhouses of the air line industry.
United and American, when their mergers are complete, have amazing hubs, great routes, and great structures. They both have HUGE Wide Body fleets, and they will use them.
Sadly, Delta Air Lines will be the third rate, mostly domestic, airline that gives it's (small portion of) Wide Body flying to it's Joint Venture partners.
The pilots of Delta Air Lines will be the new "RJ" operators...serving our Joint Venture masters, and connecting pax as they fly Wide Bodies on our "partners".
