Asking for or demanding "restoration" is different from actually getting it. Regardless of bargaining agent demanding it, the company isn't going to go there, and the pilot group isn't going to do what is essentially the nuclear option to try and force them. Face it, while almost all here find the "re opener" barely adequate, there are enough fence sitters in the pilot group that will jump on it. Both the union and the company know this. There will be some back and forth, some give an take for face saving, and in the end, it'll be a "win" for both sides. Remember, all it takes is 50%+1. Throw enough money on the front end and they'll have their numbers.

Taken from the lead story from the ALPA daily...
Delta pilots union seeks nearly 40 percent raise over three years | AJC@ATL
"The rejected pilots deal called for compounded pay raises of more than 21 percent over three years, along with a reduction in profit sharing. That deal would have increased estimated annual pay for a Delta first officer of a Boeing 717 from $134,030 to $162,780 by 2018."
Bulleffingcrap. I worked my butt off and made nowhere near $134k in my first year. That would have required 170 hours a month @ $70/hour. Can these people not do simple math or fact checking? Maybe a 12th year FO, but what % of 717 FOs are getting the 12+ scale?

I just looked it up, 32.5% and 14%. Either way you can't just add them together because the second cut was on the already reduced pay. I am pretty sure the total was closer to 42% then 48.5%, but either way it would be nice to see someone making this point on our behalf.

I guess it would be easy enough to figure out how many 717 FOs have been at DAL for 12 years. What's (roughly) the seniority number of the 1st person hired since 2004?

Exactly the same as the last person hired in 2001.
But to answer your question, it is around 9400/9500 for a DAL south 2001 hire. The problem with this rationale is many years of no hiring between 2001 and some time around 2007/8. You have only a few numbers separating people hired in 2001, 2008, and pretty much even 2010.
Although you can probably use 9500 for a guesstimate.
