Default Additional aircraft

Spoke with two very reliable sources yesterday. One on the jumpseat, the other in the DTW crew lounge during our "employee appreciation" pizza party.

1) Six additional 717's and,

2) "More" 321's - if the company is able to get the geared-engine models.

I think the 717s were officially announced.

On the 321s, I thought the ones we were getting were the final production run BEFORE the GTF production run...??? I.e. Specifically not GTF jets.

However, if we do get GTFs, we will then know why BHs were in exchange for EASKs.

I think 3 717's were announced, bringing the fleet to 91, maybe they have secured another 3.

The 45 321's we're getting are not GTFs. But they do have a very advanced version of the CFM 56. I think he's saying there is another chunk of an order in the works.

Specifically asked about the previously announced three (717's) from Blue1. These six are in addition to those three, bringing the total fleet of 717's to 97. #88-replacements

That's correct, thanks. These GTF 321's, if they're able to secure a deal, would be in addition to the already announced forty-five. #757-replacements

The ones we are getting are definitely NOT 757 replacements. Per the 321 information on DeltaNet they have a max range of 2200 mi. Cannot do most of the West coast...more like M88 replacements.

I think he meant 75s going away and 321s coming on.

Lower pay would explain the not happy face

Correct...the 45 321s do not have the fuel capacity that longer range 321s have....that's what Mgmt wanted

All the more reason not to budge on scope. DAL mgmt wants nothing more than to be a very robust domestic airline, that has very, very little organic/widebody international flying. All we see now are 737-900s doing SEA/LAX TO HNL and extraneous 757 European flying from places like Philly, RDU, PIT, etc

Guys need to clue in and look how small our widebody fleet is compared to AA and UAL. DAL mgmt wants to have less widebodies, because that means less bodies to hire and pay. That's one reason they tried to sell our 777 rates so much....DAL mgmt could pound their chest and say how much they pay their pilots. It's all smoke and mirrors...DONT GIVE UP ANY INTERNATIONAL SCOPE

The 321's we currently have on order ARE replacing the 75's on the lighter Florida routes. (i.e. ATL - FLL/PBI/MCO/MIA/etc.)

If Delta does purchase the GTF 321, it COULD very easily replace the 75's on the lighter transcon routes.

These newly rumored GTF 321's could very easily replace the 75's, at a lower pay rate.....again. (i.e. 73-900)
