A new twist; reserve to regular line
So I think I've got the reserve rules figured out for the most part. In May I will hold a line, but, Sunday I'm on reserve and tomorrow (Saturday) I'm on short call. From what scheduling told me is my short call can end Sunday morning and I could be on the hook until midnight Sunday. Is that accurate? I commute, so that sucks. Why would I have to sit around all day Sunday when regularly on reserve you're released at 12 if nothing is on your schedule? I'm off Monday, although since it's regular line it's there is no golden day. I'm not fully getting when it might be safe to commute home Sunday?

Also, if they don't put me back on short call Sunday and I revert back to long call, am I obligated to answer my phone at all after 12:00? I suppose technically it's still a reserve day, and CS even mentioned they can fly me into a soft off day if they want (which would be Monday, in this situation).

What do you mean by this? Just that May 1 is part of the APR bid period?

They can fly you into any of your regular line days. If you have the first week off they can give you a 6 day trip at no penalty. Always a good idea to put a trip on the first day of the new bid period. Stops that from happening and usually nets you the last few days of reserve off because of FAR's.
That's messed up.....what's the concept behind not having golden days for line holders? It's nice having those on reserve, why wouldn't they give reg line holders that?

It's the contract. It only happens going from reserve to regular lines and there are multiple ways to protect yourself. You can bid or pickup a trip on your first regular line day or put an X day on the last day of your reserve month as examples. Credit is accounted for at the end of a rotation so you often get a little extra pay for the regular month on top of what you flew on regular line days.
