Default Industry Leading Pay

9/1/16

UPS 7ER Captain $300 per hour.

As our leader Captain Dickson promised,

"Industry leading pay, work rules and benefits."

Anything less is a NO VOTE.

Definitely helps with our Section 3 numbers but remember, UPS pays based upon seat and longevity and that's it. Ergo, while their 7ER Captain will be making $300/hr, their Whale captain is also making $300/hr as well.

How many 747's does Delta have? This only helps you.

Since our contract is pretty much industry lagging in every category except profit sharing - everything helps us.

And how much does a 757 captain make at UPS?....eventually $338 an hour.

AND They also got a substantial bump to their pension. Their retirement is better than FedEx's by a good margin

AND they got improved rest facilities....among several other items. The retro/bonus does suck though.

Just remember that DELTA pilots only have 7% paid at highest level which is still below $300/hr.

Delta is also lowest paid in 767-300 category.

Delta work rules are poor to none, except for that wonderful part 117.

Our schedules are poor, with low credit and high work loads and min rest.

We fly more then we have off with ALVs 84hours

vacation is poor

retirement is poor

sick leave verification of a junior high student

JV and regional scope poorly written

When is this group going to get angry?

please feel free to add to the list.....

Our DEC TA is dead, time to put on the big boy pants and learn how to negotiate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have to hold management's feet to the fire......if they want our word to be worth something...they must live up to their word. If they can get away without living up to their word, what is our culture really worth?

Great post!

Our leader Captain Steve Dickson.

"Industry leading pay, work rules and benefits"

Steve is making the right choice. Our execs are returning almost $4 Billion in free cash flow annually to the shareholders. And there is 40 millions share in the executive stock pot worth $1.3 Billion.

Let's win together.

Captain Dickson has my yes vote when he makes his word good.

Don't want to start a food fight, but I think the answer from Steve will be that our pay is industry leading.

His definition of pay will be total W-2; which includes profit sharing.

I am not sure we want to "trade" PS for pay rates. Pretty sure that our 22/7/7 offer (with an untouched PS) will yield a larger W-2 than our brothers in brown.

For the other items, we are way behind. As a guy in his late 50's, the lack of a pension is starting to really gnaw at me.

Happy for the UPS guys/gals. Their deal can only help us.

What the heck have you been doing with your money? I'm sorry but relying on anyone for your retirement other than yourself is stupid in my book. The longer you wait and wish for a pension, you'll be disappointed. Yes, I hope a pension comes back but you know what the playing field looks like and you shouldn't be backing yourself into a corner and hoping A new contract will bail you out. Sorry if this was personal but I just don't get some of you older guys.

I'm prepared to be enlightened with older wisdom and corrected of my ignorance.
