That would depend on the replacement mix for the MD80's. Management has stated they are upguaging the MD88 to the A321 and 737-900. That makes sense given our gating constraints. They left the door open however for some of the MD88's to be replaced by the CS300. If the plane performs I think they will exercise the options and we will end up with 125.
I am still confused by everyone saying the E175 can hold more people. The seat pitch is 34 in EC and 31 in coach. That's pretty much the standard at the Delta mainline. How much tighter then 31 do you think they can go? Even if they went to 30 it won't get them another row. They would have to go to 29. Ever ride on Spirit?
I also suspect you have not heard the last on management wanting more E175's at DCI. There may be another aircraft purchase announced that they would once again make contingent on those DCI airframes. It may or may not be in our best interest to allow it. This is just my suspicion but I suspect management wants to avoid giving DPA ammunition to try and block a TA.

Now that the RJ hole has been closed it can be very large! Has anyone seen any numbers of what the hourly rate will be on these?

I'm not bar but I agree with his thoughts. This airplane is so dynamic. If they eventually launch the 500 series which is 320/737 size we could have 150-200 of these things. Just my opinion. A future delta fleet could be like this : c series 100/300/500 for short to medium haul and long range thin routes
737-900 and 321 for transcons/high density
787/330 for everything the er does and long haul Asia/Europe/South America
777/350 everything 747 does and then some

Great work by JM, the NC, and the MEC and thanks for the countless hours spent away from your families.

You're kidding, right? It is not in pilots' interest.

DCI will shrink in 10 years to probably 200 - 250 76 seat jets, and 20-40 50 seat supersonic jets. The CRJ 200/700 will be parked, and the rest of the current RJ routes will go to the C-Series.

Will the C series pay more than the 88s?
