Exclamation Regional Airline Academy

Stay away from regional airline academy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That school will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to go there. Take it from me I been there. That was the worst experience of my life. They milk you on everything . IF you can complete an instrument course quickly they will say oh no not good enough more time needed to milk that money. They say oh well get you hired in 600 or less BULL **** . THe staff & the owner is BULL ****. The type rating program is a joke. They want 18,500 just for the CRJ 200 type not including PREP or anyhting just the type! you can go to PAN am IN WASH DC and get it all for 9000 bucks out the door. If you leave before your training is complete they will bad mouth you to the airlines if you go elsewere. They try to completely run your life and its bull ****. I would highly recommend ATP's there program is a whole lot more organnized. I wish i would have known better. I cant stand the staff the owners nothing about the place at all. The quality of training is very poor and many young aspiring pilots chose regional b/c of the promises to someday be an airline pilot. Regional Airline Academy is a joke. They are now implementing a 142 program where you will be finished in 9 mnths and only 350tt and 25 multi and go to an airline. That is no real life experience by that time you are barely capable of flying a Seneca I or Duchess X crnty much less a CRJ. I was personally scammed out of 18,500 by them ! Take it from someone who has dealt with the selfish ****ers dont go there! any questions please feel free to contact me.

You have to watch out for the big pilot mills. They will tell you anything that will get you in the door.

At least they're an academy. You think they're bad try flying at my FBO. Planes are never available and the mechanic is well known to all. I'd say I talk to him every 10 days about a problem. I'm leaving as soon as I can. As much as those pilot mills are expensive, you actually get to FLY!!! What a concept!!

Try another FBO. You will end up paying $20-60K more than you need to. During my brief stint at a pilot mill, I lived far away from home and flew maybe 3 times a week.

I guarantee you that from the perspective of someone who's been a regional pilot for a few years a small school or FBO is the way to. Hindsight is 20/20...Actually of all the big outfits ATP is decent as long as you just buy your basic ratings and not any other jet or "airline" training.

I agree with rickair7777. Try and find another FBO. Much cheaper. To be honest, I didn't when I started flying. I went to a FAR 141 school and had a good experience.

However, I could have saved my self a SIGNIFICANT amount of money if I had just gone to the loacl FBO. After all, in the end we all have the exact same pilot license. Nobody will ever know by justlooking at your license, unless you tell them, that you did all of your training with a mom & pop FBO or at RAA and the like.

MSRVPILOT,

I am currently enrolled at Regional Airline Academy and want out! The school is terrible. I understand that you were a student there as well. I need to know how to get out of that contract they make you sign to attend there school. If anyone has advice i would really appreciate it.

Hey,
As you know I am currently enrolled at the academy. When I signed the
contract for the school I did the $60,000 fixed price plan, I was
hurried so fast through the process I didn’t see that in the contract it
says that if I leave the school they will keep ½ of the money I agreed to
spend at that school. They essentially would keep 30,000 dollars, and I
would walk out of there with close to 23,000 but that is still a huge
loss. I need to know what you did to get out and how you did it. Are
there any loop holes on the contract that you know about that I can use
against them? I am open to all suggestions. You can email me back at….
[email protected]
Thank you very much

A very ****ed of Regional Airline Academy student
