Default Chinese Pilots

News Room

Delta Connection is now training the Chinese. I guess they are taking over our academies. They already took over Pan Am Academy and Trans Pac academy... now Delta Academy lol. It says that "after training at Delta Academy for 11 months that they will return to china to fly B737 and A320 for various chinese airlines." I Guess the market for pilots in china is booming. I do think its alittle strange they training their pilots for 11 months and stick them in the B737 and A320s.

Haven't they been running China contracts there for a while? Theres more schools than just those as well - IASCO, UND, Wright Flyers, US Flight Academy in Texas. I'd love to find out how many places are running contracts and how thier programs are working.

If these guys are going through these schools and getting placed into 737s and A320s it must be working out for them. I mean it takes years for Americans to land a 737 or A320 FO position in a Airline.

I don't get the problem. I think Chinese students are great. Not only do they provide more jobs for CFIs but most Chinese people I have talked to are extremely nice. Its not like they are taking away the jobs here in the states either way.

With that said, you can't help but to feel jealous of a guy who only has about 250 hrs get a guaranteed seat on a 744 just because he can speak English.

Its nice that they provide jobs to our CFI but it would be even nicer if they offered us jobs at their airlines.

350 is full of Chinese jobs for expats. But not for 250 hour pilots.

Heres a fun fact:

If you lined up Chinese pilots, 6 abreast, and marched them in front of you, theyll all be captain before you get to a regional.

They study and come to the airport preparded every day. Cant knock them at all.

I'd love to move back to my communist country at my gov't controlled job, to make gov't controlled wages, in my 400 sq ft apartment watching state controlled TV and browsing my state censored internet, after a nice stint in the States.

The grass isn't always greener guys....
