hi, I'm a flight instructor with almost enough hours to start my "Real" career. I fly single and multi engines.
according to the famous saying "being on time is late" I would like to start preparing my self for the B737 type rating I've longed for..
I will appreciate any book recommendation, any online course, websites or anything else you might think will make my transition from piston to jet a bit easier.
thanks lot !

If you're American don't pay for you own type rating. You're not going to go from a CFI to a 737 in the US.

Most of the regionals are hiring. Or try to find a 91 or 135 flight operation looking for an entry level pilot in a turbo prop or light jet.

I'd probably save your money for now. Get the 73 type when you're ready to apply to SWA, that way the knowledge will be fresh in your head.

Also a 73 type can hinder your chances of getting hired at other majors, or at least that was how it was when SWA was the place to be.

Default 737 type rating

^^^What he said. If you know you're gonna go to work for a 737 operator that requires you having the type before class, wait till then. If you have deep pockets and wanna burn $$$, go for it. If you wanna get it because it's a dream...see previous post.

thanks guys, i appreciate your input
i don't plan to do the type rating out of my pocket but I am going to push with everything in me to be a 737 pilot (if its good or not, probably depends who your asking, but it's a long life dream of mine..) as one suggested I'm not an American (sad but true) which lives me with only a shot at one of the major airlines around the globe, I finished the hard European ATPL's. and also the FAA ATP. (Iv'e been bussy)
as this is my plan, I want to start acquiring knowledge on the 737. I want to be as knowledgeable as I can get even before i lay a single foot in the 737 type rating class. I still have a year-ish before its my time to actually go and do it. my question was if you can refer me to some books/websites/software.. whatever.. that can give me a taste (or more) of what is about to come. that's the way I am. I like to be prepared.
I appreciate your quick response it was faster than I anticipated..
fly safe

If you're doing the JAA thing you'll need to get the Type on that license or get it on the FAA one and convert.

This forum is mainly US/FAA pilots, pprune will be able to provide more help on the JAA side of things.

You don't need to get snappy because I'm providing information on where you can learn more information on getting your license validated for JAA/ICAO use.
