Default Flight Schools in Ohio

I know that this question was propably asked many times but I am looking for a good flight school in the northeastern ohio, Akron area.

Any suggestions would be great, I am looking to start sometime in early spring. Still saving money at this time.

Thanks in advance

go to the local airport, do you know the number of flight schools in the area? if so, ask around, google, or yellow pages. hang around the schools to get a feeling about it, ask questions

What ever you do dont go with Commercial Aviation Corp at 1G3. I was the instructor for 6 months there, and the guy that owns the place is a complete lunatic.

Ive heard good things about Long aviation @ CAK
There is also American Winds or American Flyers @ Akron-Fulton
I dont know if you have to be a student at Kent State but they have an excellent 141 program if thats the route you want to take.

I'm going to Kent State next year. I'm going to major business and minor in Flight Tech. They have a great program, large number of internships including CAL and Express Jet.

Give Premier a look too. They operate out of Akron Fulton, Cleveland Burke Lakefront, and now Cuyahouga County and Lost Nation. The best toys are up at Burke. But The best Instuctor (Stephen Pfanner) is at Akron. http://www.premierflightacademy.com

I worked at Kent State as a Flight Instructor, and I second staying away from Commercial Aviation Corp.

If you are looking for University 141 then I would highly recommend Kent as part of a University program. But, if you are just looking for Flight Training I would look elsewhwere. They just arn't well set up to take people not in the program.

Like Guildenstern, I was a Kent Instructor. Kent has a great program but is a bit pricey as is Commercial Aviation on 1g3. I would check out Weltzien Skypark out by Wadsworth. Had a few friends who flew out there and loved it. They loved the community and the prices are pretty good from what I hear. Goodluck!
