I flew out of there back in the '80's, so I'm probably not the best person to respond. All I remember is that is was big and expensive. I lived in Menlo Park, so it was close. I moved to Fremont and flew out of Hayward later.

How many hours per month? For what? Are you a student or instructor? It's a flying club, not a flight school. Of course, they have lots of instructors teaching.

Well, as the gentleman said above--WVFC is big and expensive. They haven't changed much.. I know plenty of people who fly there. They have nice planes, but they have draconian policies, higher rates, odd fees and plenty of other little 'gotchas' that have kept me from wanting to fly with them (As a customer, not as a CFI).

Anyway, did you have any more specific question? There are lots of flight instructors that instruct with WVFC, but as the guy said above, it's not intended to be a flight school-- The applicability of your questions to the situation is vague.

Perhaps a more complete question would garner a more complete answer.

Ok, I am wondering if it would be worth my time to work there, I am looking to build time fairly quickly(~60-100hrs/ month) and then move on but stay instructing part time.
1. Is it common for instructors to get that much time there?

They also say I need to pay for my own checkouts.
I guess I am worried about gettin there paying for a bunch of checkouts and then sitting aroun and not doin much flying.

If you have to pay for being checked by them, well do you really need an answer to that? Not meant to be rude, but if they need an instructor-they foot the bill.
