I am studying to take an ATP 135 written...There doesnt seem to be a clear cut answer on this in the book...if you take a 135 ATP written could there be questions on the B727/B737/DC-9???? Thanks all.

They're just performance quesitons anyways. I forget what exactly was on mine, but basically it sucks either way. Those questions eat up a lot of time!

Spend $75, get the SheppardAir software, study for a few days, and take the 121 version. It makes absolutely no difference whether you take the 121 or 135. When you get the rating, an ATP is an ATP.
Plus, SheppardAir guarantees you score a 90 or better, or you get your money back. If you see a question on the test that they didn't show you in their software, you get your money back. Very easy to use and very helpful. It took me about two days of intense studying to feel comfortable enough to take the test, and I scored a 93.

I just bought the Gleim ATP written book and I wanted it just because I could reference it and whatnot. But my questions is: Since i'm currently attending ATP, should I take the test with them since they will give me a discounted price of $200 to take the test, or just study the Gleims and pay like $90 at some other place? Most of the people i've heard of and seen take the ATP written at ATP have all passed and did the prep software for like 8 hours and then take the test all in one day.

They told me that it was a full discount. I wouldn't know, though, I didn't have the chance to take them up on it!
The only questions you are not responsible for on the 135 test are the part 121 FAR questions. The performance ones are fair game. My part 135 test was 80% questions on the MD-11, 767, L-1011 etc. I called Gleim and asked about this. Got to talk to the man himself....Dr. Gleim. He said yup....study everything but the FAR chapter of the other test. A certain percentage of the 135 tests (apparently mine included) MAY have quite a few "121 airplane" performance questions, and vie versa.

Discounted at $200? I think you answered your own question. I did the 121 written for my dispatch license. Got the Gleim CD, and did test after test after test on that one. Between that and the book, it was a piece of cake. The only questions I really memorized were the CG questions, simply because I didnt feel like taking the time to do them during the test. If you can read a performance table, its a fairly simple test. Performance charts are performance charts, just different numbers for different a/c.
