Examiners being just people, the score is going to give them a first impression. OTOH, that impression will likely be confirmed or negated within the first 5 minutes or oral quizzing.

All my examiners took a look at my test scores, and always had something to say. Also based on the questions I answered incorrectly emphasized my oral on. overall I believe if your prepare it wont matter whether the oral is 1 or 4 hours long.

All of my examiners barely even looked at the test scores.... my written scores weren't the best and some orals were hard... some weren't. I'm not sure that a 100 on a written really means anything other than memorizing/recognizing the study guide. I know a couple people that had 98s and 100s on writtens and failed the oral in 30 minutes.

Sometimes (I've heard) that some examiners don't mind seeing lower test scores because it means (or should mean) that the flight instructor spent extra time explaining the given subject.... rather than someone that guess on a few and got lucky or recognized the answer - but didn't understand why it was so.

When I was an examiner, I never looked at the written. Just tested oral and flight. When the applicant knew his stuff, the oral usually went quicker, you can tell when they have it together. Doesn't happen 100% of the time, but you do the math about the relationship between the written and oral. Moral of the story is do not just study to pass to oral, but actually know the material.

If you have a low score, the examiner may question whether you know what you need to know, and they may have some ammo for questioning. However, as several others have said, your answers have more to do with the length of a quiz than the score on a knowledge test. Prove you know your stuff and above all, do not make up answers if you don't know. If you're unsure, tell the examiner where you can find the info and look it up right then.
