flystoofast, if you are a contractor of WASInc, I think you're dead wrong.
if you're repeating mindless dribble from third party rants, then again, you're wrong.
I work in china and for WASInc. never had a problem. the Mgt is good and they do all they can. You work in China, so to be so niave that you think the agency can fight every battle for you, again you're wrong.

Guys, flying in China is different but the ground looks the same from 10400 meters. The life in shenzhen and more specifically, shekou, where most ex pats live is easy, fun and we have a good time drinking cheap beer at the local irish pubs .....I laugh when I see these juvenile character assasinations by people who screwed themselves with their bad attitudes, poor performance, or immaturity....This is the best,easiest 200k (gross ) job a year...with the tuition reimbursement full time guys take home 151,000 net a year which over 200,000 gross. if you assume the 34% tax bracket, it's around 225,000 gross....
you can live like a king for 2000/month, but I live fine and eat out every day for 400/ month . a plate of chinese food where the locas go outside my gate is 1$, i eat breakfast for .30 cents . i eat for 3.00 a day. if you want steak and lobster that goes up...a pint of beer is 2.50...a bottle of Tsingtao at the 7/11 is .55 cents for a 600ml or 24 oz
i get pedicures for 5 bucs. never had one.. haircuts with massage are $7 bucs.....I'm telling you to live here is to know....
good thing is, i don't pay for the US deficit, bad policy or lousy gov't.

one last thing: I had such a prejudice view of here before i came I am astounded. I submit most Americans who've never been do too. the country is changing rapidly for the better....
I calculate I can save 65 to 70,000 cash a year and pay off my house in 4 years. have a paid for beach condo in 5 1/2 and a million to retire on in 10 years

no, not repeating rants from other people.
first hand experience from getting burned by wasinc. I've met lots of other people on the road who have also had bad experiences with wasinc. dishonesty, hiding information, not responding to questions once you are in china and locked in.
if you are a contractor for wasinc and you haven't had any bad experiences yet obviously you haven't been around that long.
yes the fat man is a good talker and can make you feel all rosy and good but they don't really do anything to help you and will leave you out to dry when the rubber meets the road.
broken promises and lies.
you are right you can buy a beer in china for $0.20 and get your nails done for 10 kwai but you it's not all and happy all the time. the pollution is bad, insurance companies used to not insure expats after a few years of living in china because of the health affects. people will try to rip you off wherever you go and overcharge you because you are a laowai. people will lie to your face and smile while they are doing it. wasinc will do the same to you, you need somebody who will stick up for you and look out for your interests, not try to steal your money and lie to you! they are plenty of other agents advertising for the same jobs as wasinc. stay away from fat cats!

I did four years with Wasinc in China. China isn't for everyone but it can be done. I left two years ago and generally the wife and kids would love to go back. Living there isn't bad depending on your locale but I would describe the flying as, "frustrating". Having said that I would consider going back and may just do that in the not too distant future depending on my current circumstances. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.
