Hello! For those who know....I hear that some people who interviewed recently are being put in a hiring pool, instead of being given a start date? Have others had this happen recently? Also, I hear they have canceled some interview classes in the coming months? Has anyone had that happen to them? I still have an interview in the coming weeks but was just curious what others in the last few days have heard. Thanks

Some are going into a pool, some get a class date a few months out. I got my "congrats" email today along with 2 of my fellow interviewees, although one of us got a class date at the end of Sept.

Talked to a friend who's been at EK for the last 20 years and he said that all classes are filled through Aug/Sept. He also said that the A380's are coming early and that that could throw a spanner in the works but to expect a class date in Nov.

Thanks Kenny and congratulations. What class dates and airplanes did everyone get? Also about when did you interview? We are expecting Nov/Dec if we get the job from what we have heard and hope to get an actual date instead of put in a pool. Any idea why some guys get put in a pool and others are assigned a date? I had not heard of that until today. Thanks and congrats again.

Recruitment Update-
Emirates has been inundated with pilot applications over the last 3 months. The majority of our applications are still from the USA.
Due to a healthy surplus of pilot applicants currently on the books, all planned off-shore recruitment activities have been postponed for the rest of the financial year. The pilot selection process has yielded very good results during the first three months of the new financial year. All transition courses up to the end of August are 100% full and the September transition courses will soon also be filled.

I interviewed the last week of May. My refs were checked by the end of the first week of June and it was a day shy of a month to get the congrats email.

I think the only reason peeps are going into a pool is because they have all the numbers they need to fill classes for the next few months. After that, there's probably so many variables (A/C deliveries, class scehedules, sim availability) that it would be a bit impractical to give class dates 4-5 months in the future.
