Awesome pics!

Amazing to see what explosive energy one oxygen bottle has.
The door handle (page 21) apparently was sheared off the door mechanism by the bottle hitting it from below.

The irony of the whole event is amazing:
A system designed to mitigate the effects of a depressurization causes a depressurization.

A year ago Qantas was found to have Nitrogen in those bottles, I wonder who works the oxygen shop for them?

The poor company's spelling sure gets creative, me included ;-)

Services

=QANTAS

Yes, pretty amazing to think about the energy involve there. I don't see any deformation on the handle itself, but some thing mad it move - and fast.

I'll have to watch carefully next time, but I think with the plug door - the door has to disengage from the locks and move out slightly before the handle has full throw. It almost looks like the handle was forced to open while the aircraft still had partial pressure and the door assembly itself stopped the handle.

I know I wouldn't want to be the FA working that door!

C'mon, guys lighten up on the spelling thing.

Its just not natural to leave out the u.

They should have left in the periods to keep the grammar police off everyone's back.

ie Q.A.N.T.A.S.

Or maybe QuANTAS would be better.
