And you get to work for one of the most dishonest, inept, person in the industry. Stay away. Love the 36 month training bond.

FlyDubai sounded great until I came across this information:

Former Skybus COO Kenneth Gile is with FlyDubai. I'm not sure if this a true fact.

Default Housing

In this region you need company provided housing, allowances never keep up with rental increases.

I like the idea of another airline hiring pilots, period. I just wonder who keeps thinking that it is a good idea to hire an exec from an airline with one of the worst business plans in the history of aviation.

Of course US Air hired Stephen Wolf after he sent United into bankruptcy and took a 30 million dollar bonus for doing so. Wow.

Woops, going off topic . . . sorry.

Best of luck to those who apply and go. I flew in the area and loved it.

I thought he was former SWA too? Can you provide some examples for those who are unfamiliar?

I did think the housing allowance seemed quite low in a country with hyper-inflation...

Thumbs down

Yes he was SWA for 20+years, we all wondered why SWA never promoted him beyond DO. Now we know why, he can't lead and he makes poor choices. I could give you many examples of his ineptness, but just trust that you want to take the advice of others and stay as far away from him.

dwn3grn I get the sense that you are excited about working under him, he is a crook and couldn't run an airline to save his life. He epitomizes micromanaging, plus he's loco. Good luck to you because pain is all you'll get if you go over.

Recruitment Update-

Emirates will be doing the initial selection of pilots for FlyDubai. However, the intention is for FlyDubai to perform this task themselves as soon as they have their own staff in place.

FlyDubai will initially be looking for B737 qualified training and checking staff as well as B737 qualified captains.

With a planned fleet in excess of 50 B737-800 aeroplanes, there will be substantial job opportunities for suitable pilots with FlyDubai.
