As the header says on this site, "Information is power". A friendly warning to anyone considering signing with Next Generation Aviation for the Air India Contract... DONT!
They promise reimbursement for air travel to screenings and then never repay you. They guarantee a job with Air India, with NO interview or Sim check, then when you get there, you get ambushed with a surprise, full ATP Checkride in the B-737NG Sim.
I was housed in a broken down hotel, "Royal Palms" in Mumbai, India, with rain pooring through the roof and windows into my room, flooding the floor. The power went out hourly, leaving you in the dark, or losing all data that you worked on the internet. The view out the window was slums of homeless Indians, deficating and urinating in a field right in front of my window every morning! Air India left me sitting in this environment for FIVE DAYS, before somebody finally called me!
It was one false promise after another, with no positive results at the end. Do not waste your time and effort, as I did. You will regret it.

Sorry to hear about your experience and thanks for posting it. This just proves the point that I keep making to stick with established contract agencies.
WhatNameIsLeft was never promised a job with Air India without successful completion of a simulator evaluation. He was told by NexGen and Air India that if he passed the screening and sim check, that they would definitely offer him the job. This Captain was one of 5 other Captains that had sim checks that day with Air India and was the only one not offered the job due to multiple failures during the sim evaluation. NexGen bent over backwards to accommodate this Captain, but in the end, it was Air India that declined him, Not NexGen! This Captain seems to not be able to differentiate between the contractor and the airline. NexGen even went back to Air India to plead for a re-check and was turned down. NexGen has never made a promise in writing that it has not kept. The travel reimbursement was supposed to be made by Air India, and NexGen ended up making the payment instead.

1) At what point in the process does one have to sign the agreement to pay $1500 if they do not accept the job?
2) Where is your company, more specifically, the company to which the contract is signed domiciled?
3) In regards to question 2 above, if the company is U.S. domiciled what do you provide your contract pilots in terms of income statements? I.E. do you give W-2, 1099, or something else?
4) What standard of hotel is written in the contract for pilots when they are in India?
* The big one: LCC pay all Indian taxes! 33% of whatever you make monthy. B747-400 Captains are subcontractors based in the USA and paid by a USA company, therefore you will pay only USA Taxes as a contractor.
(Looks like double taxation to me.)
Boeing 747-400 Pay Scale Table
Line Captain Check Captain TRI TRE
$6,500 $6,700 $6,950 $7,250
(Your kidding me with these pay scales, right?)
I love the fact this guy calls himself Capt. SPEIGNER

HHHMMM...very different stories concerning the same experience. Perception is a funny thing. Have one question though. What promises were not kept that were not in writing? Kind of suggests to me that there was some misunderstanding since Capt Michael made the point.
