To my knowledge they are already operating at least that's what it seems when I see them on the ramp here in Chennai.

Default Deccan Cargo

I just got DEselected for Deccan Cargo after a 3 month long application/waiting process. The first employment offers went out this week.
The aircraft are/will be converted A310s and ATRs. They seemed to be the only airline in India hiring anyone over 63, which is yours truly, but I feel the DEselection was age-based; no doubt they would want to hire someone younger if they had otherwise equally qualified applicants.
I was using API, the Manager there is excellent, Capt Bhattacharjee.

I spoke on the phone with Capt. Bhattacharjee (API) 2 days ago regarding his opinion on the deselection. He told me the Indian authority (sorry I don't have the correct acronym) is considering lowering the max age back down toward 62 and maybe even 60. This is based on the glut of pilots available wordwide. I'm 63 and that may have been my reason.
I only know of the letters going out for the A310. I'm still getting emails from my fellow applicants who were selected for the A310. But indeed I have no direct knowledge about the ATR.

This is the increasing trend with the DGCA. Has the age rule come into effect yet? Also is it for all pilots or just the expats. There's an Indian pilot here in my company that we would love to get out of here.

I'm not sure how many but I'll try to find out from the one TRE new-hire who was helping me find a suitable location to do the recurrent I no longer need.
Hoover, I tried sending you a PM but it didn't look like it went out.
