Any number that is linked to my personal info and especially my birth cert. worries me. My wife had a problem with identity theft years ago and it was not fun trying to straighten that out.

Thanks! I realize that the foreign employment is a different ball game. I guess if I want to be considered for employment I will have to hope for the best as far as ID security is concerned.

No, I haven't given my SS# online. Of course I've submitted my SS# as needed on hard copy applications and handed over to HR depts. I guess I'll have to suck it up and not worry about the passport number....thanks!
