hy what about these 80 hired pilots?
are they rated on widebody fleet aircraft of even 320?

do you have any news about 320 recruitment restart?

how many pilots are now still swimming in the 320 holding pool? when arer they expected to be out of pool?

how many aircraft are this year expected to be received from etihad?

are there any expected deliveries for the next year?
if so,how many,which type?
thank you eybusdriver

Don't have details on the hiring for the year. Was told by one of the recruiters that the target was for 80 pilots in '09, mainly for the 330/340 fleet with some on the 320. Earlier this month had an RJ pilot on one of my trips who was returning home from an interview which leads me to believe that a type rating on the Bus is not a rigid requirement. Having a 330/340 or 320 rating is advantageous.

I wouldn't take that to the bank.. there are still pilots in the 320 holding pool. Some of them are typed with experience and just not current.. and they have already passed the assessment and background check etc. The idea that they would type RJ guys when there are 320 guys around at this point gives false hope. Yes they will eventually need more on the 320, but they also have their cadets coming up through the ranks in the future. Unless you are typed and current on the 320/30/40 or 777 I wouldn't get too excited.

hi everyone. unfortunately I would tend to agree with removeb4flight in that without a type on airbus or boeing NG/777 I wouldn t get too excited. there are about 30 guys in the 320 pool (that I know of at least) and about 1/3 to 1/2 of the pool got a class date for september and october. the remaining of the pool is hoping for a date in november or december. Apparently the cadets are going thru a longer training so even though they dont take spots at the same pace they still do on the 320.
the pools are type specific so if you are rated on 330/340 thats the fleet you ll get. same goes for the 320. since they are receiving more 330/340 than 320, the 320 pool is getting empty very slowly
good luck to everyone
