...sooo, are y'all hiring? Not so much for myself but my former JALways buddy is still looking...

Also, could you give us a quick summary of what it's like to work and live in Japan? Pay, benefits, housing, etc.

What was it you said about perpetuating "the obnoxious, intolerant, and ethno-centric stereotype of the USA"?

If he lives and works there legally, pays his taxes like the rest of his coworkers do I see no reason why he shouldn't be able to speak up whether we agree or disagree with his message...
AV8R, I agree with your posts as I perceive them as open minded and down to earth!

The rationale behind my post was to propose that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

As far as my immigration status in Norway, I have dual citizen ship as I was born here and moved to the USA at a very young age.

I live in a family owned home in Norway and commute to the UK where I work for the time being!

European countries rarely issue work visas based on a job offers, unlike the US which is a nation that encourages immigration and diversity!
Since its inception, people from all corners of the earth have been flocking to the USA in hopes of brighter futures. I have met people from all corners of this planet both on the flight deck and in other settings while living in the US!

Based on the fact that I am a dual citizen, I do feel free to express my views, which by the way should not be a criteria for such a basic right!
As AV8R points out, if you pay taxes and contribute to the society you live in, you have earned that right.

There is by the way, no shortage on negative comments about the US over here. I think its great that people feel they can express themselves, even if I happen to disagree with their views.

Now, having seen the other side of the coin, I do appreciate the USA even more!

saviboy - I won't reply to your post that compares "quality of health care" to avoid yet another political discusion. I saw you changed your original reply (the one about "being on drugs") - not sure why you wrote that but I meant what I said - in the past I got to live in Oslo (year), Helsinki (10 months), Copenhagen (year and a half) followed a few years later by Frankfurt (8 months) and Gdansk (~year). My dad was a Saab distributor and a dealership contractor and his job was to set up and monitor certain dealerships throughout Scandinavia and central and east- European countries. I was a teenager then and moving around that much was no fun but we did what we had to do and today I'm glad I got to experience that. So there you have it. If being a half-ful type of a person makes me being on drugs - so be it... Maybe I can sell you some?

Who cares about the British chicks .

I'd rather talk about the Check, Swedish, Norwegian, Italian and Spanish chicks.
