Default Emirates - Benefits

First post here so please bear with me…

Although I do believe I've seen the information posted here before, I cant find it, so here goes my question:

I know EK pays a school allowance. Now, if the newcomer chooses to come to Dubai for the duration of the ground school by himself and leave the family at home for, let's say 6 first months, will the school fees of the home country be paid by the school allowance, provided you send the bill to the company?

Спасибо

Now I remember where I read the information: EK's website.

Can I also get this allowance if my children study overseas?
Yes, all you need to do is present the school bills to refund your money

Since this was posted in the Hangar Talk forum a while back, I would appreciate the view of those in the know, regarding this post:

One example of Emirates.

ULR (14.5 hours +) on a 777-300 ER with no separate FC bunk unit and no FC rest seat. All crew use the bunks at the back and unless you insist on a change the FC bunks are the smallest ones at the end of the unit.

You are not permitted to use any seat in the cabin unless there are no bunks fitted.

If you want to eat your meal you do so in the flight deck.

If you are not tired and can't sleep you lie awake in the bunk or sit in the FD or galley.

That's before I even start on the other stuff...
True? No way you can rest in first or business?

Thank you in advance.

Actually, you can rest in First Class. You just have to be on the Airbus

Pilotguy,

Do you mean pilots may rest in seats when crew bunk is not available or that policy is lenient on all Airbus fleet (i.e. 380, 340/330), therefore the Bus pilot may seat wherever they please?

If there is a requirement for crew rest in flight and no CRC is available for the crew then a seat (or number of seats, ie cabin crew) are blocked off for rest.

On the Boeing it's usually seat 1K for flightdeck

Yes. As Turtle mentioned, 1K is the seat on the Airbus too. That is the right front window seat, with nobody next to you.

Last time I had to rest, the forward cabin controller was broken and the temp was ice cold. When one of the girls woke me, they had covered me with 2 more blankets, so the service is a little nicer than in the CRC ;-)
