Maybe they are interview locations they are referring to.
If it is basing would be a game changer for all.

Take a big lump sum retirement payout and go fly ex-pat for 5 years? You wouldn't?

19 years in this industry in the US and it hasnt done much for my family and I (i.e. unions and management crap), I'd jump to undermine the US/CA national airsystems if the pay and bases were right. Been trying to do the "right thing" and realize its fruitless. FUPM!

As a US citizen, do you want to see the US airlines removed from the global WB markets. Meaning Asian and ME carriers do all the heavy lift in/out of the US and US pilots do the domestic feed? Until of course, we lose the domestic feed and foreign airlines to a majority if not all the airline flying?

The Chinese produce everything else, and you are good with it, why not our flying?

US bases would absolutely change this industry as we know it in the US.

Cathay already offers US bases for both freighter and passenger operations.

I know. But they don't hire anymore for US bases...it's been a long time since they have. I want to say early 2000's. They have that horrible SO program now.

The ME carriers with US bases would change the landscape of this career significantly. Although I'm sure the big unknown would be the pay, since it will now be taxed.
