Yes he does mean credit hours. EK credit hour calculations are:

1 flying hour = 1 credit hour
Min daily credit = greater of 0 or the actual flying hours for the day
Duty rig = greater of 0 or the actual flying hours for the duty
trip rig = greater of 0 or the actual flying hours for the trip

And I hear they're working on changing the "greater of" to "lesser of"

Controlled Rest…..

Don't forget that we don't get any pay or credit for:

Holding for 20 minutes at Bubin/Desdi each and every night at midnight (arrival points for the flood of arrivals into Dubai)… or any holding for that matter

AND…

De-icing! No pay for de icing.

@ Dominican: 50 hours…. Suweet!! If you were doing that here at EK, you would be told that you are "stealing from the company and not being productive enough". Have honestly heard this very statement!

It just keeps getting better and better…. (NOT!)

Really? You don't get paid actual block time if it's greater than scheduled?

Does time in the bunk as augment still not count towards legal hour limits?

ControlledRest….

Nope! We get paid what our original schedule was… period. The ONLY way we would ever get over that amount is if you divert!!!

Bunk time for the ULR's is paid but no credit… meaning some of us fly well over our 900 hours per year limit… 92 hours at a time each and every month…. westerly, easterly…. can you spell FATIGUE???

Like I said… for the life of me, I can't' understand why ANY US pilot would ever come to EK!

Did I read that correctly? You are airborne, in the hold, and you are NOT getting paid??? And you are deicing somewhere, after dropping the brake, NOT getting paid???

4 years ago I was working in a little SE Asian country. Pay was so so and straight salary only.

Bidding? What is that? We got a weekly schedule that changed daily.
Overtime or rigs? What are those.
Call me every day to change my schedule? JR or SR manning pay? LOL

Most fun job I ever had. I am thinking about going back soon.

This 92 hours includes bunk time (in full or in half)?. How many days off a month nowadays for 777 or A380?

yes that includes full bunk time. yes its 92 hrs block.

but our girls are young, funny, and hot. like to go out on overnights. our hotels are way way abv what domestic guys get. we get a nice per deim in local currency. usually comped in the biz class lounge, with nice food and drinks. and you get to see the world. and EK first class non-rev is very very good.

its expat. you need a certain mentality to deal with the good vs bad. I don't think you should even try to compare it to the US, because its not.....and it never will be. That's both good and bad.

I was in HND recently and had drinks with the UA guys....we did a little cocktail napkin numbers. All in all EK does ok moneywise

I avg 12-15 days off on the 777...and I spend most of those days off in Thailand...and I promise you I'm not at the Mall, or fixing what got broken on the last trip I was away
