Thanks underwing and Toonces for the great info.
Can you give me your experience of QOL with Planesense and the schedule? I am 47 and would be a career changer going this route. I do not aspire to be at a major some day so my flying goals may be a little different that all the young bucks on the forum.
Thanks again.

Well, the schedule is the schedule. It is busier in the summer and less busy in the winter. In general, you'll fly 3-5 legs per day, about 60% passenger legs, and average maybe 50 hrs per month with 17 days on duty. You may be gone all 8 days, you might not. We stay in business class hotels, mainly Hilton, IHG, Marriott, and you will frequently, but not always, get a rental car at your overnight.
I've enjoyed my time at PlaneSense. It's a good company with management that generally works hard to both support the pilots and satisfy our owners. Sometimes you get the short end of the stick and sometimes you get pretty good deals. If you want to make a career here, you certainly can. We have a number of folks in the 10+ year range.
Any other more specific questions are welcomed.

Great info, thanks.
Is there retirement and health insurance?
Also, I live about 2 hours from PDK (closest base). How often are you back at base at night during the 8 days on? My concern is being back at base often at night but not enough time to get home and back the next day but no hotel.
How often to do you see career changers get hires in their mid-40's?
Thanks again for taking the time to explain the in's and out's of the company and job; much appreciated.

Retirement is a 401K with a 2:1 match up to 3%; contribute up to 6% to get 3%. Health insurance is pretty decent (I don't use it) and 80% of premiums are paid by the company.
For PSM based crews, fairly often. I'm home mid cycle usually 2-4 times a month. For PDK, slightly less so. For other bases, rarely. If you have less than 12 hrs rest at your home base, they will offer you a hotel.
Career changers are fairly common here. The mix of backgrounds for all pilots is pretty diverse.

They have a ridiculous balloon payment "pay to train". If you stay 18 months it goes away. For years they blew it off if you didn't leave them for a competitor, but I guess things have changed. A year after I left (with their blessing) they sent me a bill for $1600 and a threat from their creepy HR "inclusion" briefer to ruin my credit if I don't pay up. I enjoyed flying for them but they are vindictive creepy and petty ... look away!\
So did they ever got your Credit messed up?
