Default Domicle question for any/all fractional pilots

All

Are the fractional home bases like airline domicles where you get told where you are going to be upon initial hire, and then bid based on seniority? Or can you live at any of the home bases no matter if you just got hired yesterday?

Thanks

PS The Bengals are the Bungles no more... check us out atop the AFC North!!!

I know some people who work for Netjets and they all got to pick where they wanted to go. A lot times they end up reporting to their domicle then fly on the Airlines halfway across the country to pick up their Plane. So I think you can choose with NetJets.

Net Jets Aviation has 5 domiciles with the new contract they just ratified: CMH, EWR, PBI, DAL & LAX.

I believe they have home basing for the top 30% of the seniority list (not entirely sure though).

NJI (the gulfstream division out of SAV) is 100% home based. (They are non union).

Here's a bit more that I received from a friend:

Starting pay is $46K per year on reserve (nothing like airline reserve) plus per diem ($1.70 per hour TAFB) and overtime (first year OT is about $25 an hour on top of your regular pay). That works out to about $55K the first year on the reserve schedule.

7-on / 7-off schedule biddable upon completion of training (you may or may not get this schedule right away depending upon which aircraft you are assigned). 1st year pay on the 7/7 schedule is $39K plus per diem and overtime.

Base Captain pay after 5 years is $90K on the 7/7 and $106K on the reserve schedule (plus per diem and overtime).

2 weeks of vacation to start (that's 2, 21-day off periods per year). Vacation tops out at 4 weeks after 10 years.

Health insurance is free (no monthly premium).

Domiciles: CMH, EWR, PBI, DAL & LAX (no jumpseat agreements so you'll most likely have to move).

Crew food provided by the company (i.e. at no cost to you) whenever you are flying through a meal period (in addition to the per diem).

No training contract.

Very nice hotels (Hiltons, Embassy Suites, Hyatts and Doubletrees are the norm, not the exception). You usually get a free full hot breakfast every morning in the hotel.

401(k) available after 3 months of employment, matching is 50% of 15%.

Heard a rumor that the chief pilot for FlexJet was going to Bombardier H/Q to ask for a raise for the pilots now that Netjets have settled for a big raise. Anybody heard anything??

Here's where you can find the entire NJA contract as ratified a few days ago.

Anybody aware of pilots that were hired to a "non desired" domicile and then moved to the one they had requested after any period of time?

Did you say EWR????? That's funny because I just drove by the hangar at TEB yesterday and the ramp was a ghost town. So I should assume operations will be on the signature ramp in EWR????
